Trip to Local Greenhouses

Last weekend we went shopping for the garden, first stop Rosemeyers. They have an amazing selection of everything and many greenhouses. We bought 4 large Better Boy tomato plants with flowers and tomatoes already on them. We also bought 8 Roma plants because we can a lot for winter and make salsa. We bought Jalapeno, Cayenne, and Habanero pepper plants for our spicy jams we make sell at the farmers market. I also bought one eggplant and one summer squash because my husband doesn't really like either one. We also purchased some Basil and oregano. Next stop was Adopt-A-Plant where we visited with the owner, we know her from local farmers markets, we bought Lemon basil, and cilantro there. Now to get everything in the garden.

More New Things Im Creating

I have always loved embroidery, been doing it since I was 10 or 11. I was was the one that embroidered mushrooms and 70's designs all over my bell bottom jeans and jean jacket. Now it is so much easier with all the new patterns and tools available. I just ordered a few new patterns from Sew Lovely embroidery and I'm working on a cowgirl pinup, very sexy. Here are a few I have recently made using Sublime Embroidery patterns and Leisure Arts retro patterns. Enjoy.

New Things I Have Made

Market season is starting so I have been busy making jewelry. My most favorite thing to make is vintage skeleton key necklaces. I shop the local antique shops and antique markets around our area looking for the keys. I also stamp copper findings to add to the necklaces. Some of the keys I actually make a lampwork bead right on the key, very cool look. The bead also turns on the key, kinda fun to play with.

Most of my key necklaces have a theme to them. One of them I named "One Love" for Bob Marley. The bead on the key is made with the rasta colors and I stamped Love on the copper piece. I also hung a piece of amber and some antique African trade beads on the key. Enjoy looking at my key necklaces.

Garden Woes

Getting very impatient here in Ohio for this rain to quit and the garden to dry out. We have not even tilled yet and its May 11. Last year I had tilled and planted by the end of April. We are having 85 degree weather today and tomorrow and so hopefully things will dry out. This is what the garden looks like before we do anything. The raspberry bushes sure look good though.
